3-night stay at Lewa Wilderness including a night out fly-camping by horse back.

Leave the lodge behind for a night under the stars with the horses. Lewa is a private 62,000 acre conservancy, containing a variation of terrain. Being on the horses allows you to canter across the plains and cross down in to the valleys where no car can go.
The campsite is simple but provides everything that you need after an action-packed day of riding. Arrive to find hot showers and a cold beer waiting for you. The camp is run by a team of Maasai who will cook for you over an open fire and ensure your mosquito dome tents are set up in the best locations for star gazing.

Day 1
Arrive at Lewa Wilderness and spend the day relaxing at the lodge. In the afternoon head up to the stables to meet the horses and the team. Here you will have the opportunity to try out the horses that have been chosen for you, just to make sure it is a good match! Once everyone is happy, it will be time to head out for a little drive and a sundowner. Dinner will be served at the lodge where you will be hosted by Karmushu and his wonderful team.
Overnight Lewa Wilderness

Day 2
Enjoy the morning at leisure and after a delicious lunch at the lodge head out with the horses in the early afternoon, once the sun has started to cool off.  You will ride into the wilderness in search of your camp for the night, exploring some of the valleys on the way. Once you have arrived at camp, the horses will be tied to a picket line and your home for the night awaits. Enjoy hot bucket showers, and an open fire where supper will be cooked and served under the stars. Falling asleep listening to the sounds of the African bush is something that we hope you will not forget.
Overnight: Fly-Camp

Day 3
Rising with the sun, you will fuel up with some tea or coffee and then set off back to the lodge for a well deserved breakfast, and a refreshing dip in the pool! Spend the rest of your day at leisure.

A most memorable lodge and experience

What a wonderful lodge and an amazing location. The game viewing especially elephants and black and white rhinos was incredible! Our room was large and spacious and every night when we would return after dinner there was a fire in the fireplace. Service was excellent as was the diversity of food.
This lodge offers a wide diversity of ways to enjoy the conservation area. Hiking, horseback riding, camel trips as well as flights to Retite elephant orphanage.

Lewa Wilderness is Extraordinary!

Lewa Wilderness is an extraordinary place on Earth. Our host, Moosh, was so gracious and warmly welcomed us into the Lewa family. The grounds are stunning and our beautiful 5-star hillside cottage, complete with a constantly changing view of wildlife from our private porch, was peaceful, comfortable, and luxurious. The food was delicious, plentiful, and healthy ... the best food we had on our safari.

Words fail ... what can we say about our out-of this world guide Daniel. Daniel was so generous and kind to us, and we are so grateful to know him, and to have laughed with him and learned from him. Just spending time with Daniel was a gift, but we also discovered the most spectacular wildlife including the black and white rhinos, Grevy's and common zebras, elephants, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, cape buffalo, grand gazelle, hartebeest, ostrich, and on and on.

It seems that the cast of The Lion King has very happily settled in this stunning landscape. The horseback safari is a must-do ... where else can you ride ride up to a giraffe and feel safe, secure, and in total awe of your surroundings?! We also visited Lewa Headquarters and learned about the impressive work the Conservancy is doing to protect the magnificent rhinos, elephants, and other precious wildlife.
